Now we skipped ahead a day. I got really carried away with the cutting and sanding, so I didn't get any pictures of the work-in-progress. Let's just say my neighbors probably hate me for ruining their Friday afternoon (I live in apartments).

The spikes that I "detached" in the original image, because the board wasn't wide enough, proved to be a royal bitch to attach. For the bigger one, I had to actually screw it in, along with a ton of wood glue. Then during the sanding process I made sure to sand the screw head away.

Also notice the lines along the blade, those are where aditional spikes come out in the game when you basically kick ass with the sword. If you look closely at the in-game graphics, you can barely see lines where the extra spikes are normally aligned with the blade. I decided to add that tiny detail, I'll be make the lines a little more obvious when I paint it.

And lastly, you might have noticed the clamp on the handle. Well it snapped off after I over-estimated the hight of our ceiling. I put some glue on it and the clamped it together (along with the help of gravity; that's why it's in the position it's in.)

I want to do as much as possible to get the experience under the belt, so commissions are "open" or whatever. I would especially love to do another Monster Hunter weapon. As long as its not a Lance or a Bow. Bows are a bitch to make, and Lances are...well, 12+ foot long cone-shaped spears, and I have no idea how I would even begin making such a thing.

If you choose to use the Epitaph blade, I will create it at a heavily discounted price, because I REALLY want to make that sword. [link] [link] I already know exactly how I'm going to do it too. The catch is, if I create it, you are required to finish the cosplay and go with us to PAX. xD

shit I do not have the time or funds to finish a full suit of Blagonga by PAX, let alone finish it and STILL afford PAX itself. Well, I'd LOVE to do the Epitath, it wouold look out of place with Blagonga. Don't tempt me. Plus, we'd only be a group of three. Maybe Giezus in female Kirin? HAhahahahahahahaHAHAHAHA
